Dominique "Dom" Pierre is one of the main characters in Netflix's Grand Army. She is portrayed by Odley Jean.
History[]
Biography[]
Dominique was born to a Haitian family. She lives in East New York, an area of Brooklyn, and lives with her mom, sister, and nephews. She didn't grow up with a lot of money and her family works to make ends meet. Her family speaks Creole at home. She goes to Grand Army High School and she has a boyfriend named, John Ellis, that also attends Grand Army.

Season 1[]
Dom is very well liked at school. She is on the basketball team, has a close group of friends, and is secretly in love with John Ellis. Dom also does very well in school and has big plans to go to Washington University or Johns Hopkins to study psychology.
Dom and her friends make several ploys to get her talking to John Ellis. It works and the two start hanging out and dating. Meanwhile, at home, Dom's family is struggling. Her sister lost her job due to an accident and is unable to work. Dom agrees to start working on the side to help her family pay their bills, but she's having a hard time balancing everything in her life- boyfriend, school, internship applications, work and family.
Her mom has an idea to save the family and Dom's crazy schedule- to have her marry her friend's nephew, who offered $10,000 to get married so he could get his green card. Dom says no several times but eventually gives in, seeing it as her only choice. She's devastated and knows she will have to break up with John Ellis to do this.
At the last minute, her mom cancels the pending marriage and lets Dom be free to be with her boyfriend and live her own life. Dom is thrilled and asks John to the prom, which he happily agrees to.

Dom often wears her hair in long braids, which she will occasionally put up in a bun. She has dark brown eyes and hair, and occasionally will wear a dark red lipstick.
Personality[]
Dom is very kind and intelligent, as well as hardworking. She generally does well in school and her goal is to be a Psychologist. She is determined to to find ways to help her family, such as getting a job and agreeing to marry Ronald at one point to help them earn money. She also tends to be silly when she is hanging around her friends.
